All full-time employees eligible for ABC’s benefits, must enroll within the first 30 days of hire date. Coverage will begin on the first day of the month following the employer eligibility waiting period.
You are able to make changes to your benefits if you experience a qualifying life event or during open enrollment.
A qualifying life event includes: marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, death or dependent gain or loss of coverage.
You must enroll within 30 days from the start of your event.
The benefits would only pay out on a diagnosis after the effective date of coverage. You can continue your current supplemental coverage and apply for The Standard without any concern for denial because of the Guaranteed Issue.
All plans are Guaranteed Issue during OE and New Hire, meaning they do not require any medical questions.
They are all Post Tax benefits.
The Health Maintenance benefit will be paid per plan enrolled in, per covered member. Only one claim form is needed and it will generate the benefits on all enrolled plans. This also applies to covered dependents.
**Examples**
- I am enrolled in Hospital and Critical Illness. I complete one of 22 covered screenings and submit my claim form. If approved, Standard will pay $50 for my enrollment in Hospital and an additional $50 for enrollment in Critical Illness.
- My spouse and dependent child receives a covered screening and the I have family tier coverage on Accident, Hospital and Critical Illness. After submitting my spouse's claim, my child's claim and my own claim, In addition to receiving benefits for all plans, both dependents would also receive their Health Maintenance Screening benefits for all 3 plans.
